Locking Down Now

Carey is one of the people locking down today to shut down construction of Dow Constantine‘s racist jail. Here’s what they have to say:

“I’m here to stop construction of the new youth jail, because caging kids should never be an option. This jail would inflict harm and trauma, perpetuate systemic racism, and cannot exist in the world we are fighting for, let alone in the sanctuary Seattle claims to be. I’m here to yell along with the countless organizations and communities who for years have told Dow and King County that we must do better – no new youth jail!”
